Make this delicious and healthy cheesecake together

Using cooking activities to develop children’s life skills is both fun and delicious.

In this video, Rochelle, a LEYF nursery chef, shows you how to create your very own fruity ‘sugar-free’ cheesecake at home.

The recipe uses wholemeal oat biscuits with no sugar.

You will need:

  • soft cheese
  • wholemeal oat biscuits
  • honey
  • butter
  • selection of fruits, e.g. blueberries, strawberries, lime and bananas

What to do

Crumble the oat biscuits. Add 20g of butter and a little bit of honey to the crushed biscuits and mix them together.

Then mix the soft cheese with honey and a squirt of lime.

Place the oat biscuit mix in the bottom of a dish and top with the soft cheese mix.

Then finish with a selection of fruits and a drizzle of honey to make your delicious cheesecake.

Learning and development

Children will enjoy crushing the biscuits and mixing the ingredients. Mixing is good for developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills.
