Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, Pembury Nursery and Pre-School provides Early Years education and childcare to children from birth to 5 years old.
We’re in Lower Clapton, close to Hackney Downs and Hackney Central stations. We’re a light and roomy nursery with two gardens – one for under 2s and one for pre-schoolers.
The nursery has great links to the wider community and many of our staff live locally. There are lots of activities to try from learning Spanish to cooking, construction, growing fruit and veg and more!
The children love to get out and about too, enjoying outings to the local shops and library.
Our chef provides all meals using recipes from LEYF’s menu.

Lorraine, nursery manager
Hello, my name is Lorraine, and I am the Nursery Manager at Pembury. With over 20 years of experience, including 10 as a manager, I am passionate about early years education and fostering a sense of belonging for every child. I am committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and believe every child should feel represented in their learning environment. People describe me as dedicated, supportive, and community-focused, qualities that help me build strong relationships with children and families.

Food and nutrition at LEYF
Healthy eating is important at LEYF. Our chefs, trained at our Early Years Chef Academy, understand children’s specific nutritional needs, and how to encourage children to be adventurous in their tastes. We cater for different dietary requirements and allergies.
