Job Description

Our Bird in Bush Nursery is located in Southwark and has fantastic transport links to Central London and the surrounding areas, there is also free parking nearby. The nursery itself is a multi-cultured, friendly setting and has a large outdoor space that is used every day to extend experiences and knowledge in outdoor learning.

Our new Room Leader will be expected to manage the room and supervise a team of Early Years professionals by creating and planning daily and weekly routines featuring activities that stimulate and encourage children’s curiosity. You will role model behaviors for other members of staff as well as for the children with your creativity and passion. As a LEYF Room Leader, you will work closely with the management team to ensure that best practice is maintained and delivered throughout the nursery to ensure we provide the best experience for our children and their families.

Job Requirements

  • Full and relevant child-care qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • At least 12 months experience working in an early year’s setting.
  • Demonstrative experience of being a confident leader, articulating your ideas and using planning and preparation.
  • Distribute staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios whilst supporting other rooms.
  • Continually strive for best practice in yourself and inspiring others.
  • Have a passion for making a difference in their communities.
  • A child centred approach to teaching using creative and exciting methods to engage and stimulate

Working at Bird in Bush Nursery and Pre-School

  • 1 Baby Room, 1 Toddler Room, 1 Preschool
  • 55 place Nursery
  • Opening Times: 7.30am-6.30pm
  • Over 2s garden comprises of a tool station, planting area, mud kitchen and enclosed climbing frame, tunnel, balancing beams.
  • The Old Kent Road will be under regeneration in the next few years to develop the Baker Loo line the station will be a stone’s throw from the nursery.
