Job Description

Our spacious Stockwell Gardens Nursery & Pre-School are currently recruiting a Kitchen Assistant with particular knowledge of allergens and cross-contamination to join their team. As the Kitchen Assistant, you will support the chef to prepare nutritionally well-balanced meals and general housekeeping including cleaning the kitchen to help maintain a safe and healthy environment. This role will be Monday to Friday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Located a short walk from Stockwell Station and local bus routes, the nursery is an important community hub, providing much-needed support for local families. The staff in this setting aim to strengthen children’s educational success by widening their network of social relationships and expanding their cultural horizons.

Job Requirements

  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Good hygiene practices
  • Ability to assess all stages of the food preparation process in accordance with HACCP
  • Children’s dietary requirements (Understand the importance of following the guidelines within the Healthy eating and Allergy Policies).
  • Experience in a busy kitchen
  • A positive and proactive attitude to work

  • Total capacity of Nursery: 63
  • Opening times: 8am – 6pm
  • Safe and varied outdoor garden
