Job Description

Our Bird in Bush Nursery located in Southwark has fantastic transport links to Central London and the surrounding areas, there is also free parking nearby. The nursery itself is a multi-cultured, friendly setting and has a large garden that is used every day to extend children’s experiences and knowledge in outdoor learning.

Bird in Bush Nursery is currently recruiting a Kitchen Assistant with particular knowledge of allergens and cross-contamination to join their team. As the Kitchen Assistant, you will support the Nursery Chef to prepare nutritionally well-balanced meals and general housekeeping duties to help maintain a safe and healthy environment. This role will be Monday to Friday 11.30am – 2.30pm.

 

Job Requirements

  • Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Good hygiene practices
  • Ability to assess all stages of the food preparation process in accordance with HACCP
  • Children’s dietary requirements (Understand the importance of following the guidelines within the Healthy eating and Allergy Policies)
  • Experience in a busy kitchen
  • A positive and proactive attitude to work

  • 1 Baby Room, 1 Toddler Room, 1 Preschool
  • 55 place Nursery
  • Opening Times: 7.30am-6.30pm
  • Over 2s garden comprises of a tool station, planting area, mud kitchen and enclosed climbing frame, tunnel, balancing beams.
  • The Old Kent Road will be under regeneration in the next few years to develop the Baker Loo line the station will be a stone’s throw from the nursery.
