An apprenticeship at LEYF offers you a hands-on experience and training in lively, diverse settings all while earning a salary.

Your Class will be all Male, a first for the UK! You will study with your peers to achieve an excellent understanding of Early Years development.

You’ll work in a fun and caring environment, with the time and space to build warm relationships with other staff and the children in your care.

You will be involved in LEYF’s Action research project with Wolverhampton University on Men in Childcare, a fantastic study championing the important of male role models in Early Years Education.

We  have various apprenticeships running throughout the year. Our male Apprenticeship will run alongside our regular programme.

LEYF has an 8.2% MALE workforce. That’s well above the sector average of 3%


Job Requirements

We’re looking for people with:

  • Energy, enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference
  • Passionate about education and children
  • Participate in your own development
  • Able to commit to a full apprenticeship programme

Not essential although preferred:

  • At least a Grade C (4 or 5) in GCSE English OR Level 2 Functional skills in English
  • Minimum GCSE D (3) Maths or Functional skills Level 1
